I've been working as a professional web designer for a little over a year now. However, I have been building website and working on the web as a freelancer for much longer. It's a hobby and a profession that I enjoy doing to its fullest.

My Background

I first got into web design at the age of 13 because of a hobby. I saw all the wonderful websites and wanted to learn how to do it. For many years I learned more and more things about web design on my own. Once I felt it was time to prove what I could do I signed up at a community college at the age of 19.

I'm a graduate from Howard Jr. College with an associates degree in Computer and Information Systems for Web Design and Management. I enjoyed going to this school because of all the hands on classes and the teachers were amazing

It was in college that I learned how to clean up my code even more by learning about W3C and validating. I worked on polishing up my skills by using the most recent standard of coding.

Before I graduated I had always done a little freelance web design on the side. Because of that experience, after I graduated, I was able to get a job right away. Now that I have had this job for a reasonable amount of time (and still have it) I thought it was about time to set up my portfolio and start doing freelance again on the side.

Fun Stuff

When it comes to being Organized I'm very adamant about it. I like to have things tidy and will go to great lengths to have it happen, even when it comes to organizing a website. It turns out that is a good thing for the web world because it helps with navigation.

I come from a pretty small family. I love my family very much and I'm very close to them. Of course, like every other family, we have our disagreements and misunderstandings but they never last for long because we all known how much we really care for one another.

My hobbies are pretty unique to some people. I'm a huge anime and manga fan. That hobby has turned my life around by getting me interested in the web and getting me into writing, art, photography, and sewing. It may seem like a silly hobby but I have met some of the most interesting and fun loving people from the internet and conventions.

I have an online alias known as Ongaku. Ongaku is actually a Japanese word meaning music. The reason that nick name was given to me was because, before I got into web design, my life was dedicated to music and singing. Even now, music is a big part of my life and is a great muse for my designing. There won't ever be a time you see me on the computer without playing some music.
